Doomsday Flu Pandemic

Doomsday flues typically mean viral infections which have not yet been isolated or to viruses for which we have not yet been able to create cures, treatments or inoculations.  As recently as 1918 a flu outbreak killed between 40 and 100 million people worldwide.  With technological advances in transportation and trade it has become much easier for deadly disease to travel beyond areas of local infection.  Many scientists and health care professionals believe such infections are able to travel faster than our ability to contain and treat them and we could face devastating global outbreaks.
